The short, plain-English rules for using Passivato.
Passivato's password generator and one-time secret tools are free to use, with no account required. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Passwords are generated locally in your browser and are never sent to us. One-time secrets are encrypted client-side and stored only as ciphertext, deleted automatically the first time they're opened or when they expire. We can't recover a lost secret link, a forgotten passphrase, or a password you generated and didn't save — none of that data exists on our end to recover.
You agree not to use Passivato to:
Passivato is provided "as is," free of charge, without warranties of any kind. We aim for high availability and correct behavior, but we don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. You use it at your own risk — for anything genuinely high-stakes, apply your own judgment about what's appropriate to share.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Passivato and its operator aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data or unauthorized access to a secret caused by how a link was shared or stored after it left Passivato's servers.
Passivato may display ads (see our Privacy Policy) and, over time, affiliate links to third-party products. We're not responsible for the content, terms, or practices of any third-party site you reach through Passivato.
We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will update the "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
